Basketball Tournament

OFFICIAL RULES — LOVE, PATTI CO-ED 3v3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

GENERAL
• This is a co-ed tournament: teams may be all-female, all-male, or mixed.
• This is a friendly tournament — no arguing calls, no disrespect toward referees, volunteers, or other teams.
• No rough play (pushing, shoving, intentional or dangerous contact). Excessive or intentional fouls = warning, then removal.
• Players under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• All games are 10 minutes running time.
• Teams should arrive 30 minutes early for check-in/ shoot-around.

TEAM SIZE
• Minimum 3 players, maximum 6 players per team.
• 3 players on the court at all times.

GAMEPLAY RULES
• Half-court games.
• Scoring: 1 point inside the arc, 2 points behind the arc.
• After a made basket, possession switches (no “make it, take it.
• All possessions start with a check at the top of the key. First pass must be made — no self-check drives.
• After a defensive rebound or steal, the ball must be cleared beyond the 3-point line; failure to clear = basket does not count.

FOULS
• No foul shots.
• After any foul, check the ball up top.
• Intentional, excessive, or dangerous fouls result in a warning or removal.
• Officials may stop the game at any time for safety.

TIMEOUTS
• Each team receives one 30-second timeout per game.
• Clock does not stop.

OFFICIALS
• All referee/official calls are final.
• Zero tolerance for arguing, harassment, taunting, cursing, or disrespect.
• Violations may result in ejection without refund.

TIE GAME RULES
• Ages 7–9: If a game ends in a tie, the game is final (no overtime).
• Ages 10–14: Sudden death — next point wins.
• Ages 15–21:
– Pool play: ties remain final (no overtime).
– Playoffs: sudden death — next point wins.

FORFEITS
• Teams must be on their court ready to play at the scheduled time.
• More than 5 minutes late = automatic forfeit.
• No refunds.
